Two- to three-storey walls border the backyard lot on Thiersteinerallee in Basel on three of its four sides. In the course of redensification efforts, the space proved sufficient to erect an an airy tenant building, based on the sensitive distribution of loggias and terraces. The two apartments on the upper floors are connected to the existing walls only by narrow partitions. The third unit on the ground floor can be flexibly assigned to one of the rental apartments and is completely detached from the hermetic perimeter wall.
