A charitable housing association in Ingolstadt has dedicated itself to the creation of affordable housing for socially vulnerable individuals and those in need. Since 1997 apartments have been created on a site bordering a commercial area near the river Danube. The project is particularly aimed at the homeless. The third construction phase was recently completed.

The three buildings of the residential complex with their exposed concrete facades comprise an ensemble that circumscribes a small plaza. The 14 small apartments of the main building feature small gardens or balconies and offer their residents a new home. However, the program isn’t limited to housing.

The two auxiliary buildings include a laundry room, a workshop and a multifunctional community room where events can take place or residents can cook meals together. An office for social services is also located on site.
