The list of names involved in building the Hotel Puerta América reads like a Who’s Who of the world of architecture: Zaha Hadid, Norman Foster, Jean Nouvel, David Chipperfield – each of them designed one floor of the hotel. Only the floor plan and room sizes were fixed, otherwise the 19 designers and architects from a range of countries had complete freedom in creating the rooms. Around 75 million euros was what this new flagship cost its owner, Silken Hotels
