In Amsterdam, De Zwarte Hond created more than a conventional office building for Dutch power grid operator Alliander. It includes areas for work and training for physical and mental labour alike. Enclosed by a rough shell consisting of corten steel, the eight storey timber frame structure, among the largest of its kind in the country, permits flexible use.
