Right angles dominate the volumes and facades of this residential complex of 43 apartments in the Slovenian capital of Ljubljana. Yet the strict geometry does not result in a monotonous impression, as the facades are enlivened by variation in the rhythm, size and depth of windows and loggias. All openings are precisely defined with a steel profile, the metal enhancing the relief effect on the outer wall and also protecting against damage to the rendering on the sensitive corners. Colour is used on the facade to enhance the sculptural effect: yellow on the walls of loggias and entrances, against the brown-grey of the facades and the sand-colour of the top storey, which is set back.
