In the heart of Munich, not far from the ”Fünf Höfe” (Herzog & de Meuron), the HypoVereinsbank carried out another remarkable conversion – this time for its own top management. The complex retains its historic facades, a monumental aspect that serves this major banking group’s image very well. Even when it was originally constructed, at the turn of the 20th century, the “Königliche Filialbank” concealed a modern interior behind its neobaroque facade: It had one of Bavaria’s first steel frames, the original columns of which are still visible today in the sober, restrained atmosphere of its conference rooms.
