Briarcliff House is a four storey development with 6500 square metres of office space above shops and parking on the ground floor. The building shows how solutions to the disadvantage of the noisy site and the solar overheating associated with office buildings, have been used to achieve energy savings. The development required high quality office space and had to complete an existing shopping centre as well as provide an urban edge to the town centre of Farnborough. The building is planned so that the offices are on the outside of the building to benefit from the views and sunlight, and the corridors and service core on the north side.
