Protecting the loading bay of the post building in Lucerne a capaciously projecting roof is suspended from the supporting structure of the edifice. This light steel-and-glass structure covers an area of 800 sq. m. with a cantilever of about 11 metres. As far as construction and material employed are concerned, the canopy is divided into two areas. Along the frontage the structure is glazed facilitating lighting of the workrooms below, as well as avoiding a break in the continuous design of the facade and leaving the structural system of the roof exposed.
