Like so many communities around Munich, the town of Erding is rapidly expanding. In anticipation of this growth, a new residential area for 1,200 people has been planned on the eastern edge of the town. In addition to the existing primary school, which was built a decade ago, a nursery, kindergarten and day care centre have now been added. The new building by Hirner and Riehl Architects is organised in three, elongated, offset building volumes, separated from one another by outdoor terraces and a central, flat-roofed corridor.
