The new Congress Centre in Rome, com-pleted after an 18-year period of planning and construction, is fittingly set in the expansive surroundings of the EUR district of the city. The focal point of this “New Rome” complex is a 165-metre-long rectangular block, glazed on all sides yet solid in appearance.

Flanking it to the south is a 17-storey high-rise slab containing a 439-room hotel. Both volumes rise from an extensive basement plinth with 17,000 m2 of hall spaces of various sizes.
