In the early decades of the 20th century the Italian railway service built housing for its employees all across the country. Also southwest of Turin, in Cuneo, along the Via Luzzatti, where an ensemble of these railway worker's houses was created: L-shaped in plan and with a gently sloping hipped roof and a single storey for dwelling, accessed by an unusually tall exterior staircase and featuring a small terrace.
