Eduardo Souto de Moura is one of the most renowned contemporary architects and, along with his former teacher Álvaro Siza, the most important representative of the Porto School of Architecture.

His work includes thoughtful renovations and conversions of historic buildings as well as numerous detached houses, museums and business centres that embody a modernist spirit, including his spectacular football stadium for the 2004 European Soccer Championship in Braga.

His play with tectonics and the sensual haptics of his surfaces were among the deciding factors in awarding the Pritzker Prize to this Portuguese architect in 2011.
