One aim architects should set themselves is to?have every detail under control. We have given a lot of consideration to solutions that will allow structures such as service runs, beams and other elements to be co-ordinated in such a way that they function efficiently together. An?air-extract duct, for example will not be laid in a certain position simply because there is an?opening in a beam through which it can conveniently pass. It should be positioned where it belongs and have its own specific place within the overall scheme of things. That?is something we have now largely achieved. Only when every branch and bend in?a services network has the same claim to its?own rightful place in the ordering system as?the structural columns will the various elements be integrated into a harmonious whole and acquire a quality of beauty.
