Conversion of Lot 8 in Arles

The industrial hall formerly owned by the French railway service is now part of a museum complex. In the remodelled hall, new regional construction materials are developed.
The industrial hall Lot 8 in Arles is a living laboratory for sustainability. In the redesigned interiors, a multidisciplinary research group develops innovative building materials for architectural and design applications comprised of regional raw materials such as rice, algae, salt, and construction waste. They even use the building itself as a testing ground for deploying these materials.
