Large format lettering and a continuous glass joint that glows in the evening: the inviting character of the Vakwerkhuis is already apparent in the street space.

For many decades the Ketelhuis was the most important supplier of energy for Delft Technical University. In 1976 the former boiler house was replaced by more modern technology and from then on it became more and more dilapidated.
