By employing their concept of facade buffers that double as residential space, Lacaton & Vassal saved many apartment buildings from demolition. Together with 51N4E they retrofit and revalorised 80 subsidised housing units in the Anderlecht commune of the Brussels region in an energy and cost efficient manner.
