The Flemish city of Genk is developing a new science park for research into renewable energies and smart electricity grids on the site of the abandoned Waterschei coal mine. As one of the first newbuilds in the area, Kempe Thill and Osar architects have designed the Energyville building, which accommodates laboratories, offices, workshops and seminar rooms.
