The former city hall in London‘s southwest served as the political centre for the Suffragette and workers‘ movements. In 1974 the Battersea Arts Centre moved into the building and brought with it performances and theatre. Haworth Tompkins had already been working on the renovation of the complex when a disastrous fire destroyed large parts of the building in 2015.
