University Building in Delft

The largely glazed facades appear open and inviting. They allow ample daylight to enter the interiors and establish strong links between the indoor and outdoor spaces.
Echo, the new interfaculty education building on the Delft University of Technology campus, has no closed facade surfaces whatsoever. The building envelope consists of room-height glazing throughout and, thus, creates a maximum degree of links to the surrounding environment. Nearly all teaching and study spaces are visible from the exterior. As a result, Echo appears similar to an open book.
