These exhibition pavilions were specially built in Kassel's Aue Park for the 100 days of the IX. Dokumenta art exhibition. A low-cost temporary structure was called for which would harmonise with its surroundings and provide appropriate exhibition space in line with the theme of 'pictures in a landscape'. Five separate buildings of equal width but varying lengths are raised 2.20 m above the ground, with interconnecting boardwalks and two access ramps. The topography of the park and its vegetation thus remain unaltered, exercising instead a determining influence on the positioning and the overall effect of the pavilions.
