Although Senden, a small town in North Rhine Westphalia 10 km distant from Münster, almost entirely escaped damage in the Second World War, the town now presents a modernized image of the usual uninspired kind. The expansion of the town was carried out in the »open architectural form« involving the sufficiently known muddle and confusion. The dwelling of the Holtermann family lies in meadow land with an unimpeded view of the river on the side facing east. The surrounding buildings are detached, standard-type houses.
