The individual forms of this extension to the Glenstone private museum are distinguished by long concrete building blocks in slightly varying shades of grey. Because the structures have the appearance of individual volumes in the landscape, they were given the name “The Pavilions” and complement a smaller original development dating from 2006. This is situated at some distance on the more than 1.2 square kilometre parklike site and called “The Gallery”.

Embedded in gently rolling land, the new, monolithic cubes of different sizes afford adequate space for the works of art dating from the 20th and 21st centuries collected by Mitchell Rales, the billionaire founder of Glenstone, and his wife, the director of the museum over the years.
