For decades, Dutch suburban settlements with their terraced houses offered a picture of egalitarian, modest prosperity. But since the city of Amsterdam began designating more and more new residential areas in its harbour area in the 1990s, the uniformity has given way to a colourful, sometimes exuberant individuality. The latest result of this strategy can be seen on Klaprozenweg in the Buiksloterham district.
