Of the former carpentry workshop, only the exterior walls remain. Resembling a protective rocky shell, they surround and conceal the new timber house on the longitudinal site in the Belgian municipality of Drongen. The clients intended to preserve parts of the existing, yet rather dilapidated building in memory of their grandfather, who operated the workshop for many decades.
