Lago Todos los Santos (literally: All Saints’ Lake) is situated at the heart of Vicente Pérez Rosales, Chile’s oldest national park. Due its large population of fish, the remote body of water is particularly popular among those with a passion for catching them. The majority of the structures on the coast are only accessible by boat, and this is also true of this holiday home situated on the lake’s steep southern shore.

The fact that the construction materials had to be delivered by boat was just one of the challenges the architects faced: the site is a rocky cliff with an angle of 70° and is surrounded by delicate flora. On top of that, over the course of a year the water level fluctuates as much as four metres. The solution was to place the house on a raised platform and to link it to a floating pier by means of bridges and stairs.
