The ground floor plan of this house clearly shows two separate living units, both having access to a central hallway with straight flights of stairs. The impression is of livable, usable space. Load-bearing components of the staircase are made of steel and areas which come into contact with feet and hands are of wood. Trussed girders with a top boom of cylindrical pipe and a bottom boom of bar-steel form the stair strings. Diagonal members and steps are also of bar-steel. A design feature is that the whole construction can be screwed together on site, with no need for welding.
