The living area in the plinth storey of this compact yet amply proportioned house is bathed in soft, indirect light from generous patios. An open staircase rises on one side to create a continuous living space extending over all three levels.

Internally, the furnishings, materials and lighting form a complex whole. The kitchen strip, for example, flows into the dining table without a break. To coordinate the differences in height, the floor behind the former is set at a lower level.

Traditional elements have their place here, too: cupboard spaces are concealed behind sliding doors, and there is a classical Japanese room with tatami mats. Roof lights and windows of different sizes ensure natural lighting and ventilation.
