After a long search, a site was selected for the first residential and care facility for AIDS patients in the FRG, which is located in the center of Frankfurt's Ostend, in the middle of a perimeter block development with a multi-layered use and social structure. This avoided any ghettoization. Previous residential experience shows that the choice was the right one. There were no models for the spatial program in the FRG. Care areas similar to residential communities were realized with a total of 20 places in single and double rooms, distributed over 4 floors. The small size of the building site dictated the basic structure of the building: Through the typical terracing to the south, which is particularly attractive for the residents, the distance regulation of the building code was complied with.
