The Blandford Street terrace of houses dates from the end of the 18th century and forms one edge of an urban block in an important conservation area in Westminster. Proposals for a partial retention of the housing with new office construction in the interior of the block were approved. Between the two end houses, which have been retained and refurbished, the street façade was preserved and tied to a new reinforced concrete frame structure on piled foundations. A fourth-floor extension over all the houses is accommodated in a steel framed mansard roof. The ground floor and basement are taken up by shops.
