The area south of Bregenz main station does not necessarily belong to the most salubrious locations in the city on Lake Constance. Housing blocks dating from the 1960s and larger office buildings line the arterial routes out. With its unpretentious exterior, the present concrete monolith by Bernardo Bader accommodates itself seamlessly in this environment, while nevertheless forming a contrast to the evidently much larger surrounding structures.
