As part of the refurbishment of this 30-year-old housing development, a new, red brick, textured outer skin with prefabricated window elements was set in front of the existing facade, forming a contrast to the adjoining plain rendered buildings.

The bricks were cut in trapezoidal form and laid offset to each other. Enlarged openings allow more daylight into the interior, and the fenestration – in deep, black steel surrounds – is partly set back. This also serves to brace the new skin.
