Exhibiting a distinct sculptural strength, the new electronic assembly hall in Don Benito, western Spain, is laid out in the form of a closed square about a central court with a 30-metre side length – large enough to allow an articulated truck to turn within it.

The building tracts are of two different depths: 6 m for the administration and 9 m for the industrial uses. Cut out of the 16-metre-high volume are four sections of different proportions. The primary structure is a steel skeleton frame with axial dimensions of 6.06 and 7.57 m, whereas the facades consist of channel sections clad on both faces with vertically corrugated metal sheeting. Bracing is provided in all three planes by the intersections between members.
