The transition from the fossil to the post-fossil era is in full swing. An example for this is the Innoasis office building in Stavanger. It was built in 1978 for the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate, which manages the country's oil reserves. Today, it is home to Nordic Edge, a non-profit organisation that offers consulting to the country's municipalities for sustainable urban development. It is supported by private corporations, the public sector, as well as higher learning and financial institutions. The building serves as coworking and event space.
