While efforts to limit CO2 emissions in international air traffic have had limited success so far, some airports are at least investing in a sustainable building stock. A forerunner in this respect is the airport of Oslo-Gardermoen, which has just been added a new terminal, a second entrance hall and a new unterground train station by a planning consortium led by the architects’ office, Nordic.

The same architects had already designed the existing airport buildings, which opened in 1998. The new terminal extends the airport northwards to form a T-shape whereas the new entrance hall (located west of the existing one) connects directly to the underground train station.
