With a height of 135 metres, this high-rise administrative block by Jean Nouvel in the historic centre of Marseilles forms a colourful counterpart to the fully glazed 145-metre office tower by Zaha Hadid Architects on the skyline of the city.

emarkable is not only the material used for the filigree facade elements, but also the way the coloration was applied. The prefabricated elements in ultra-high performance fibre-reinforced concrete were painted by hand prior to assembly. As many as six different shades of the colours of the French flag were applied to a single element.
