Exhibited in the Victoria & Albert Museum during the London Design Festival as part of »The Wish List«, this tiny garden house was created by Paul Smith and the joiner Nathalie de Leval as a retreat in the landscape. With a low-tech approach, they fashioned an object 3 x 3 m on plan that is as simple as possible and uses a minimum of materials.

The shed-like structure was built with American ash that was thermally treated to make it weather resistant and to give it a darker tone. A yellow steel doorpost lends a colourful note, and magnets in the door form a closing mechanism. To allow an optimum orientation, the building is set on a mobile platform. A fully glazed gable front opens the view to the natural surroundings.
