For the social housing project in the north of Dijon, the
architect Sophie Delhaye developed a sophisticated
system of building blocks based on a square grid. The
question on how to provide residents with neutral rooms of
identical size, yet without determining their function beforehand, was in the centre of deliberation. Each room was
supposed to serve either as living room or for dining, working
or sleeping, for small children, adolescents or guests.
