Standing on the banks of the Vistula, the new museum, with a perforated CORTEN steel outer skin, was erected to document the work of theatre director Tadeusz Kantor. The building straddles a former power station that now contains the archive and an auditorium.

Exhibition areas are housed in the bridge-like tract with a steel-frame structure that extends between the two staircase cores. A third support in steel stands between the existing buildings.
