This unique architectural ensemble comprises buildings from various periods and is situated in the Piazza Antelminelli, one of the historically most important squares in Lucca. The buildings include a 13th-century tower, the chapel of San Martino, dating from the 16th century, and a number of 17th-century storehouses, as well as excavations of Classical walls. The architect's brief was to create a series of light yet intimate exhibition spaces for works of religious art within this heterogeneous ensemble.
