On the site of a former railway freight yard on the outskirts of Paris, a new housing district has been created, the Gare de Rungis. The present seven-storey office complex stands to the east of this. The 150-meter-long development, divided into a number of curved and angled segments with stepped roof terraces at one end, responds to the heterogeneous urban surroundings. On the other hand, with its striking form and larch-strip facade cladding, the building is an unusual element in the city.

An opening in the middle, extending over four storeys, affords a view through the building and forms a sheltered piazza – the communicational heart of the complex. The layout was conceived for flexible use to accommodate a number of leasable units. The supporting structure consists of two load-bearing cores, columns in the central areas and load-bearing wall slabs in the facades. The top two floors over the opening were executed in a trussed steel construction.
