Dating from 1970, the centre consists of a block of flats, a club for senior citizens, a kindergarten, youth rooms and a parish hall. It?is closely linked, spatially and in terms of its construction, with the new Church of the Sacred Heart and with the 19th-century presbytery. Like many other developments built in the 1970s, the centre consists of a dense agglomeration of different cubic volumes, the functions of which are legible externally. The community centre no longer complied with modern needs and was therefore subjected to a complete refurbishment. The main aims of the scheme were to remove constructional deficiencies and functional weaknesses and to improve the fire protection.
