For the exhibition “Golden Splendour – Medieval Art Treasures in Westphalia”, shown last year in Münster, a temporary pavilion was erected in the cathedral square where the accompanying workshops were held and an information centre was installed. With a simple, quick means of assembly, the cruciform-plan building was constructed in just six weeks. The laminated cross-boarded timber panels used as load-bearing elements for the roof, facade and floor were left exposed internally and are complemented by specially designed furnishings in the same pale wooden tone. In view of the craft precision of goldsmiths’ work, which was the theme of the workshops, the architects attached great importance to careful detailing.
