Located in a listed building in Munich’s old quarter, this corner shop has been converted from a fashion boutique into a pharmacy. Glazed entrances and two large windows give a good view of the sales room from the street. OTC products are displayed in a full-height shelving unit, in red-painted wood, that curves through the space separating off a working area at the back. From here a staircase leads up to an office, break area, laboratory and storeroom on the first floor. Also on this level is the automated dispensing unit, a computer-controlled system for putting together prescriptions. It can handle up to 6,000 drugs on a footprint of just 7 m2 – dimensions that make good use of limited space.?
