A simple hut among the trees in a classical school courtyard meets an urgent local need for a kindergarten. Resting on two concrete beams the structure is an uncomplicated assembly of plain pine planking, like a wooden crate. Beeswaxed plywood sheets line the interior, into which a number of spyholes are cut at different heights. The edges of these openings reveal the nature of the material. The insulation between the inner and outer skins is itself protected from wind and weather by sheets of roofing felt.
