Opened in September 2017, the Queensbury Crossing road bridge spans the Firth of Forth and connects Edinburgh with northern Scotland. It replaces an overloaded suspension bridge constructed in 1964, which will in future carry only buses, cycles and pedestrians. Together with the world-famous red cantilever railway bridge from 1890, they form a unique ensemble of bridge structures from three centuries.
