Greater flexibility in working conditions today calls for new office forms, leading ultimately to a non-territorial layout. With the redesign of this 1980 building, a mixture of individual rooms, team workplaces, multifunctional zones and glazed “office islands” was created. A so-called “marketplace”, with a sitting recess, a lounge and a bar, serves as a place of communication.

New lighting and colour concepts counteract any sense of excessive spatial depth or reduced daylight intensity in the inner area. Individual lighting solutions were chosen for the various locations: pendant fittings over the tables, light-diffusing soffits and coronas in the conference rooms, and an LED strip housed in the ceiling at the centre.
