The ongoing wave of restoration and renovation in Venice and its lagoon has finally arrived in the town of Mestre, bringing a sense of progress to the Venetian mainland.

Before its transformation by Sauerbruch Hutton, the property surrounding Convento delle Grazie was an array of abandoned, dilapidated buildings and fallow land. Today, views and passageways enliven the complex around the old convent, which has now been renovated and converted.
