"The architecture of this single-storey pavilion for an Austrian lighting firm draws on nature as a source of inspiration. In order not to damage the roots of the large beech trees on the site, the building was erected on individual pad foundations. The slender eaves details and dematerialized corners enhance the impression of lightness; and the glazed external walls form a transparent boundary between internal and external space, thereby integrating the seasonal changes of the vegetation into the spatial concept. A bridge leads from the road to the entrance. The offices and exhibition areas are laid out around a central core that houses the sanitary facilities and mechanical services. Courtyards with newly planted trees allow light to penetrate into the interior. The storage tract with a loading ramp can be converted into an independent office unit with separate access if required. The primary construction consists of tubular steel columns and welded steel beams. The bays of the floor and roof construction are filled with galvanized ribbed steel sheeting laid on the lower flanges of the beams to achieve a planar quality. All external walls consist of 3.70-metre-high panels of double glazing with rebated, adhesive joints at the corners."
