Belonging to a network of dining houses in which Belgian cuisine is presented in a unique atmosphere, this new Belgo Zuid restaurant has a street front only three metres wide. Squeezed between two brick buildings, a 12-metre-high structure with rotating prismatic elements draws attention to the restaurant. Access to the dining area is via a long corridor, the walls of which are lined with innumerable beer bottles. The timber-clad, curved form of the dining room is reminiscent of the inside of a beer barrel. The raking line of the wood boarding to the walls creates the impression that the floor slopes downwards – an optical illusion that causes some guests to stumble on leaving the restaurant.
