For sixty years the Taunusanlage has been the heart of Frankfurt’s financial district. The area’s transformation – and the arrival of the American skycraper in post war Germany – is epitomised by the 17 storey office tower at Taunusanlage 11.

»T?11« was already a trend setter at the time of its construction: A general contractor was appointed, rather than individual trades, and from the curtain wall facade to the rooftop plant the tower expressed the ideals of international modernism. Even after the most recent (already the second) renovation by KSP Jürgen Engel Architects the »American spirit« is still visible. (Christian Brensing, Jürgen Engel)
